Who: Funding Circle is an online marketplace that allows investors to lend money directly to small and medium-sized businesses. Funding Circle was the first website to use the process of peer-to-peer lending for business funding in the UK, and now operates in the UK, US, Germany, Spain, and the Netherlands.

As of February 2017, Funding Circle has facilitated over £2.5 billion in loans to small and medium-sized firms.

Why: We were tasked by Funding Circle to help them re-think their global brand strategy and develop a more human and engaging position, identity and go to market approach.

What: We developed a single unifying thought around the notion of ‘Made to do More’ – this was a rallying cry to all small business owners to believe in themselves and to let them know Funding Circle believed in them too. Our involvement included leadership interviews, employee workshops, new positioning, new story, new logo and corporate identity, new visual identity, new guidelines, internal communications and other promotional activity.

The challenge was to find an emotional positioning that resonated with Funding Circle customers while instilling trust and confidence as a financial services company. Rooster Punk helped Funding Circle to identify a common thread that connects small business owners, investors and the people who work at Funding Circle. Results revealed they share a uniquely driven yet positive attitude to work and life, a restless determination to succeed and the tenacity to get there. We called this ‘Made to do More'.

Made to do More encapsulates the gritty, honest and restless spirt of our customers as well as acting as an internal rallying call.
