As part of National Storytelling Week, we have launched an initiative offering £25,000 worth of branding services to one lucky startup. Rooster Punk is calling on startups and early-stage companies to apply on Twitter for the chance to have their story brought to life with a new brand identity.

Who should apply?
Rooster Punk is looking for consumer startups* that are trying to make a purposeful and meaningful difference in categories as diverse as fashion, retail, technology, healthcare, financial services and so forth. We are specifically looking for companies who value the notion of trying to be more human in the way they go about their business and can show innovation and disruption at the heart of what they do. Examples of brands disrupting their markets include:

• Innocent drinks. Inspired by their desire to create a better product and make a difference to society and the planet beyond their CSR obligations.

• Whole Foods. Have a positive social and environmental stance, and how they choose to use their profit represents a fundamental belief in who they are and the active role they want to play in society.

• Fairphone. Stands on the side of what’s right, and takes on the tough and thorny issues that blight society.

• King of Shaves. Clear vision for a better product or service to shake up the market and category.

All entries need to be submitted by Friday 10th February.

How do I apply?
To enter, brands simply need to show us how they are trying to bring something new and purposeful to their category. All responses need to be submitted on Twitter using the #jointhehumanrace hashtag – answers can be in the form of words, pictures or video. Rooster Punk will choose the brand they feel gives the most relevant and inspiring response.

We’ll whittle all the entrants down to our favourite three, who will then be exclusively invited to meet Rooster Punk’s planning and creative team in their London office on Friday 10th February to present their brand story. The lucky winner will be announced on Monday 13th February.

“We’re always looking to work with inspiring founders so we can help them take their vision to the next level. This competition gives us the chance to fast track one amazing company and showcase them to the world in the most engaging way possible, said Rooster Punk’s Chief Rooster Paul Cash.

“We’ve made a point to keep the entries simple by using Twitter. We’re not looking for brands to flex their creative muscles, but rather provide us with a clear and compelling reason as to how a new brand story overhaul would help propel their business.”
